With less than one week to go until nominations close for the Leicester Mercury Business Awards 2018 , another local business has come on board as a category sponsor.
Training for Business is a training provider which offers apprenticeships in a diverse range of areas and professions.
With Leicester’s business community growing and government support for apprenticeships, training schemes are starting to play a key role in many of the region’s most successful companies.
With this in mind, Charlotte Moreland, managing director at Training for Business, said sponsoring the apprentice employer category was a natural decision.
She said: “With more than 30 years’ experience working with employers for their apprenticeship needs, we wanted to sponsor the Apprentice Employer of the Year category to celebrate the fantastic apprentices and their employers locally.
“These are the individuals and organisations that fly the flag and spread the message for the incredible benefits that apprentices can bring to individuals and employers alike and whom deserve this recognition.
“We contribute towards the region’s business community through supporting employers with their staffing and training needs and by recruiting new apprentices for businesses too.
“In addition, Training for Business is particularly passionate about supporting young people to get on the career ladder.
“Our region has a hotbed of fantastic businesses that we are able to work with, contributing to building more skilled workforces and increasing job opportunities for the future in Leicestershire.
“The key focus for us in the coming year is to grow our networks and further promote apprenticeships for all businesses in the local area.”
Nominations for this year’s awards will close on Friday (January 12) when category sponsors will be tasked with drawing up the shortlisted finalists before the winners are announced on April 12 at Leicester’s Maher Centre.
