As the great and the good of Leicestershire’s business community look ahead to the 2018 Leicester Mercury Business Awards, another company has outlined its reasons for becoming a sponsor.
Grove Park-based BHIB is a long-established independent insurance broker with decades of experience in the industry, working with a wide range of different clients.
Based in the heart of the county, but working with people across the country, the firm will be sponsoring this year’s Not For Profit Organisation award.
This category recognises the impact that the public sector, charities and not-for-profit organisations make to the wider business community.
As judges, BHIB will consider the financial performance, cultural influence and benefits that nominated businesses offer the region.
BHIB senior client account executive Chris Hutchins said there were plenty of obvious reasons for getting behind the awards.

He said: “BHIB were delighted to offer sponsorship of this category.
“We believe it is important to recognise the incredible value that not-for-profit organisations have for ordinary people and the community.
“They do this for no financial gain and often in very difficult circumstances, therefore when the opportunity arose, it was a very easy decision to offer our support.
“As one of the most successful businesses in Leicestershire, supporting events such as these awards shows BHIB’s willingness to contribute to the business success of the region as a whole.
“However, sponsoring the awards is not the only contribution the company makes to the business community.
“Although our main business activity is insurance brokering, we also strive to be seen as valued business advisors and look to share our experiences with our clients and others in the broader business community.
Leicester Mercury Business Awards
“BHIB are founder members of The Brokerbility Group, a business based in Leicester made up of 35 UK brokers and a group spend in excess of £500 million which flows through our Leicester offices and generates business activity and employment opportunities beyond our business.
“We are also responding to the government growth action plan by way of the Brokerbility Academy – a unique apprenticeship programme tailored specifically for the insurance industry.”
This year the Mercury’s black-tie awards ceremony will be held at the Maher Centre, in Leicester, with many of the region’s biggest businesses hoping to walk away with one of the coveted prizes.
